Bio
Janja Batič was born in 1977 in Maribor. Even as a child, she loved drawing and painting. In second grade of elementary school she wrote that she wanted to become an art teacher when she grew up. So it was no surprise that she decided to study art education. She met her future husband Primož Krašna in college. She lives with her husband and two children in the countryside near Maribor. Janja is engaged in teaching and research work. She loves long walks in nature, hanging out with family and friends, and visiting galleries and museums.
Education
Janja Batič has a BA from the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor, and an MA and a PhD from the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana.
Employment
She is an assistant professor for art education at the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor, Slovenia. Her research area includes art education, visual literacy, multimodal literacy and picture books research.
